Broken road creates inconvenience for many

13 Apr

If you walk from Sarjapur Outer ring road junction towards Suncity Apartments, you will notice a patch of road broken on the right side. As you move ahead, you will notice another patch in a good condition and then again a small patch is broken.
Towards the end of the road, auto drivers park autos where the patch of road is in a good condition.

But railings near the broken patch indicate that the auto stand is actually there. No auto driver wants to park their vehicles on that stretch as it is broken.

“There is no footpath on this stretch and the corner of the road is broken, we have to walk on the busy road. It is very dangerous,” said Pallavi, a passerby.

Kids often topple on the broken patches. Senior citizens also find it difficult to walk.

Booster antenna on flat window scares residents

08 Apr

A booster antenna installed near a house window at Suncity Apartments is scaring residents. The booster antenna is like a dish to capture and emit strong mobile signals. The installation increases signal strength, eliminates dropped calls and reduces static interference.

According to the residents, the antenna installed produces harmful radiation. “Apart from that, the antenna can result in other consequences. I have my old parents and wife staying at home and I am scared,” said Arvindh, owner of the flat.
“I am not aware of the fact that the antenna was installed and in addition, my window grill has been used to tie the antenna,” added Arvindh.

The antenna is installed on the back of Block 5 at the 6th floor. This can be harmful for the people staying in the apartment as it produces electromagnetic radiation, residents say and is demanding its removal. Officials of Airtel said, “Our technical team has visited the place and resolved the problem.”

Road not repaired for three years

08 Apr

Residents worried as monsoon approaching
The residents of ward no. 174 of HSR are a worried lot these days as monsoon is fast approaching. Even after several rounds of complaining, the kaccha road near the Reliaable Acacia is in a very bad shape for the last three years. Residents fear it will turn worse during monsoon.

The road has not been repaired since the three years. There are several apartment complexes in that road. Residents have been complaining about the issue but there has been no sign of improvement.

The road starts from the left side of Suncity apartments. The uneven road is a nightmare for motorists. If one moves further on the road, heaps of mud can be seen piled up on both sides. “The mud on both sides of the road makes the road even narrower. It is getting increasingly difficult for people and vehicles to pass the road. This problem has been there since three years, without any improvement,” said Praveen D Souza, general secretary, Reliaable Acacia Owners Association.
Residents fear small children will hurt themselves while walking or running on this uneven road. As the road is all cement and sand, it is even risky for two wheelers as there are chances of skidding.

As the stretch from Suncity Apartments to Reliaable Acacia comes under the ward no. 174, the residents approached the local MLA and the corporator but they were told that for the development of the road, clearance from Lake Development Authority (LDA) is required. Latha Narasimhamurthy, Corporator of ward no. 174, said, “We asked permission from the Lake Development Authority (LDA) for laying a pucca road. The residents of Iblur, Reliaable Acacia and Suncity Apartments have also given a memorandum to repair the road.”

Traffic signal makes commuting trouble-free

19 Jan

Traffic signals and zebra crossings at Sarjapur Outer Ring Road junction have made commuting easy for motorists as well as pedestrians. Now you can find a traffic signal 200 meters from Suncity apartments in Sarjapur Road.

Around six months back, this junction at Sarjapur Outer Ring road was in a mess, as vehicles used to ply from three directions. There was neither a traffic signal nor there was any zebra crossing at this junction. Pedestrians had a tough time in crossing the junction.”It was scary to walk across the road when vehicles were coming from all three directions,” said Neelam, a pedestrian.
Traffic officials were managing the heavy traffic at the peak hours manually but it was not systematic. “I used to wait for more than 15 minutes to cross the road at this junction

The IT boom in this area has increased the demand for residential properties. Localities close to IT parks at Sarjapur Outer ring road area are preferred. With increasing population, there are more
vehicles on the road. Proper traffic management is the need of the hour at this area.

The construction of flyovers in that area has eased the traffic congestion to some extent and now the installation of traffic signals and zebra crossings has made the management of traffic easier. “It has become very easy to travel in this area now, even during peak hours of the day
